This little table idea was kind of a 'need'...
I LOVE my birds and squirrels. They bring me so much joy and I needed a place to set the many ceramics, feeders, and seashell keepers I have, in a place where I could enjoy them from the living room every morning over coffee. I have hanging feeders, but they aren't particularly fair to the squirrels, soooo....
We have a tiny, narrow front porch and an awkward window height from the outside. These things necessitated my building my own table for the space.
This project involved a single piece of wood that was 2'X6', two cans of spray paint, some glass marbles and candle base I had laying around, and two cheapo plant iron plant stands I picked up for $6.
I sprayed the entire piece of wood red. Then I taped off a 3"border, and I sprayed it orange. I lay the wood atop the plant stands, marked for holes, then drilled three holes per side that I used to run wire through (in a button 'X' pattern) to secure the wood/table top to the stands.
All that was left to do was secure the marbles using industrial, weather-proof glue and set everything up...viola! My birds and squirrels are very happy...which makes my mornings something extra special :)
